Axmouth feline is voted best in two prestigious shows at Exeter

Her name is Balti – and she’s fast becoming one of the cat world’s hottest properties.

Named after a curry – like her dad Vindaloo – the brown spotted British Shorthair took away all the top awards when she competed in two competitions at Exeter on Saturday - to the delight of her Axmouth owner, Patricia Absalom.

The four year old feline – full name Imperial Grand Champion Wellmar Balti – was judged best in show at both events, run jointly by the South West British Shorthair Cat Club and the Kernow Cat Club.

She also returned to her Stepps Lane home with several best of breed awards and a number of first prize rosettes .

“But most importantly she was best in show at both shows – something I have never had before and so was thrilled to bits,” said Mrs Absalom who names all her cats after curries because she says they are “ brown and vey spicey”!
