A musical evening which raised £2,800 for a Honiton-based mobility charity has been almost doubled by Santander bank.

The stellar showing, held at Combe Raleigh in Honiton, featured the Devon Youth Jazz, Isca singers and other musical acts - raising £2,800 for TRIP.

The event was held at Cory Hill to commemorate TRIP’s 20th anniversary.

Santander also contributed to the total to the tune of £2,500 - meaning the final total raised for the charity was £5,332.

The announcement was made at TRIP’s annual general meeting, held in Honiton, which was followed by a cheque handover.

The event was arranged by TRIP trustee Steve Brownridge, who said: “This is the best amount we have ever raised from a fundraising event and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to the great total.

“TRIP is always looking for donations and is a vital service in Honiton.

“We are not a life-saving cause, but we improve peoples’ lives.”
