Barn fire near Honiton

Firefighters have been called to a barn fire at Upottery near Honiton.

Four fire appliances and a water bowser were mobilised to the incident this morning at 8.50am.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Upon arrival crews confirmed a barn containing straw was well alight and are using four breathing apparatus wearers, two main jets, and one hose-reel jet. The incident has also been sectorised for ease of management.”

The incident was still ongoing at 11.22am and crews were using breathing apparatus, two main jets and a light portable pump at the scene.
