I find the whole idea of parking fees at Honiton hospital incredible. How does a Green Issue come into this? This isn't Wonford Hospital, in Exeter, that has numerous bus services providing alternative transport for patients, but a small cottage hospital, and that we are expected to switch, to quote, "to more environmentally friendly means of transport". Do we have to enquire at reception to see if we can car share every time we have to visit the doctor's or hospital? I suggest, Mr Dave Rollason, that you pay a visit to both the doctor's surgery and the hospital and study the age group of the majority of people attending. You tell me how else we get there apart from our own transport or a taxi?A simple way of ensuring that only genuine visitors use the car park would be a barrier that lets you in on approach and a token issued by reception to put into the machine to raise the barrier for exit. Then the mention of car parking fees being in line with those now charged locally. These are already far too expensive. That's why people look for alternative ways of parking.Alan SurteesWoodhill View, Honiton
