The Jose and Leonard Colony Beavers from 1st Honiton Scout Group recently enjoyed a birthday party and sleepover.

Beaver Scouts were 30 years old on Friday, so Beavers across the UK were celebrating in different ways.

The youngsters firstly walked around Honiton with the challenge to get 30 shops and businesses to write Happy Birthday in their card.

They then enjoyed a birthday party tea, before undertaking several challenged such as building a tower of custard creams, decorating biscuits, making model and a fun Malteaser challenge.

Helen Turner, scout leader, said: “At 7pm, we made a phone call to a Beaver Colony in Eaglesham, near Glasgow in Scotland.

“Jose Beavers had written postcards of Honiton and sent them to the Scottish Beavers who in return sent us a Postcard of Eaglesham. We chatted to them and then both colonies sang Happy Birthday to each other.

“We also planted two standard stemmed roses in our garden to mark the occasion.”
