Honiton Town Council receives an update on the town’s new community centre.

‘Everything is progressing as expected’ with Honiton’s new community centre.

At a meeting of Honiton Town Council, Councillor John Zarczynski gave an update on the Beehive’s construction after attending a recent site meeting.

He said: “Everything is progressing as expected – there are no major issues apart from the normal things, everything is going according to plan.”

He said that the project was two weeks behind schedule, which he said were due to issues ‘beyond everyone’s control’.

Councillors also heard that it may not be possible to make up this time but Mr Zarczynski thought this would not be a problem as long as nothing unforeseen happened.

“There is nothing adverse I can report on the Beehive and I hope it continues that way,” he added.

Mr Zarczynski said topping out was likely to take place at the end of September.

The council is arranging for councillors to attend a site visit to see how the centre is progressing.
