ALTHOUGH serious crimes are extremely rare occurrences in the Honiton area, lone drivers should be cautious - if they come across anybody lying in the road and there is a vehicle nearby. That's what PC Ian Atyeo told Honiton Town Council after deputy mayor Councillor Vivienne Ash expressed concern about a recent alleged sex attack on a male. The 26-year-old was bundled into a red van and assaulted by two men in Beech Road, Honiton.Councillor Ash asked what people could do to avoid becoming victims."If you come across a person lying in the road and there is a vehicle nearby, perhaps you should drive further along the road before stopping to ring it in to police," PC Atyeo replied."Everyone has to make that certain decision.
