POLICE are alerting Axe Valley residents to a phone scam, which leads people to give out their bank details.
Sergeant Peter Trudgeon said there had been incidents where a person, posing as a BT worker, rang to say a bill had not been paid.
When people failed to 'pay,' the caller would not hang up, ring back shortly afterwards, and claim that was proof they could disconnect them.
