ART lovers and collectors will have the chance to buy a painting by internationally known artist Alan Cotton, in Seaton.

Sunlight after the Storm will be on offer in a silent auction at Seaton and District Art Society's one-day Art Fair on November 27.

The painting, which shows a landscape in Kerry, Ireland, will be on sale in aid of the Children's Hospice South West and the Seaton Society - of which Alan has been president for more than 30 years.

Alan was founding President of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts and was awarded an honorary doctorate for his 'outstanding contribution to the arts' at Exeter University.

The event will take place at the United Reformed Church hall, in Cross Street.

Bids for the painting can be made on the day or sent in beforehand in writing. Send, signed with name, address and phone number, to The Chairman, Seaton and District Art Society, Restorick Row, Colyton, EX24 6LW. The highest bid over £3,500 will secure the painting.
