Bid for temporary dispersal zone granted

POLICE in Honiton have been granted a temporary dispersal zone under Section 27 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006.

POLICE in Honiton have been granted a temporary dispersal zone under Section 27 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006. The legislation was used for the first time in the town last Friday, Hallowe'en night. PC Joanne Arundale, Neighbourhood Beat Manager, said police plan to use it again on December 6 - the night of Honiton's Christmas Carnival. Areas covered will include High Street, New Street, Beggars Lane, Exeter Road, Allhallows Playing Field, the Glen, Bowling Green and Oaklea park.
