Police in Honiton urge residents to secure their motorcycles after an increase in thefts.

Police in Honiton are urging residents to make sure they have adequate security measures in place following an increase in motorcycle thefts in the town.

A police spokesman said: “We would recommend that people review their security arrangements to ensure that these are adequate – consideration should be made to using quality chains or locks and where possible chaining these to a substantial fixed object such as a lamppost or by making use of a garage overnight.

“Further security advice can be obtained from your bike manufacturer or supplier.”

Police have arrested an individual on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle who is on police bail at this time whilst officers conduct further enquiries.
