A DOCUMENT produced by Seaton residents to help guide East District Council planners on future applications for the town has formally been adopted. The Seaton Town Design Statement was commended by EDDC's Development Control Committee last month. This was after almost three years of work by a voluntary working party, with funding and input from the town council.A spokesman for the working party said: "This Town Design Statement will help guide the decision-making process in all future planning proposals for Seaton, whether small or large, from a conservatory or stone wall to a large development site."Seaton has a number of enduring and valued qualities that sit at the heart of this document, such as its history and natural landscape setting which are unique. The Town Design Statement sets out to show how the town's natural features, open spaces, buildings and materials can fit together."Copies can be viewed at Seaton Town Hall, EDDC offices the Knowle in Sidmouth, and at Seaton and Colyton libraries.
