ONE of the attractions at the Honiton Show was a draw to win a restored tractor. Now in its sixth year, the draw is held by Bicton Overseas Agricultural Trust (BOAT), which helps to train agriculturalists in the developing world. The tractor to be won is a fully restored Massey Ferguson, which has been sponsored by Vapormatic, in Exeter, and Firestone tyres.Over the last five draws, the trust has raised £67,000.Bill Vellacott, of BOAT, said: "Over the years we have had great support from the Honiton Show and because the draw is sponsored, all the money from ticket sales goes directly to the trust."This year we have had six people come over from Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi and Uganda for training."We also trained 24 trainers in Tanzania, at the request of the country's government."Through networking they have gone on to teach 300 more trainers, so it has been a very exciting first for the trust.
