A LYME Regis hotel has been the victim of 'bilking' with a client leaving without paying his bill.
A LYME Regis hotel has been the victim of 'bilking' - with a client leaving without paying his bill.A man stayed at the Mariners Hotel in Silver Street for four nights but left without settling the bill of £494.The man, who was driving a red Mazda MX5 convertible car and gave his name as Z Rothschild, also failed to return the room keys.He gave a Bath address and a mobile phone number - but police are satisfied the address given was a false one.The same male committed a similar crime in the Christchurch area a few days before - with a bill of £360 unpaid.Enquiries are being made with the mobile phone company. Items left in the bedroom of the Mariners Hotel have been sent for fingerprint examination.Hotel and guest house proprietors are asked to look out for the car and this man. He is described as white, mid 30s, heavy build, 5'10" tall. His hair was thinning and shortish.
