Re your article in the Midweek Herald (page 18) November 19 Intriguing visit.Could it be that Mr Tony Simpson of Honiton is riding on the back of a book written by Gavin Menzies titled 1421 The Year China discovered the World? The paperback, which I recently bought and am currently reading, was published by Bantam Books in 2002 and makes a most enjoyable and fascinating read, describing in great detail the subjects your article touches upon.If so, it would be good if Mr Simpson would acknowledge Mr Menzies' painstaking research, which took him many years and, as I understand, is still ongoing.Sigi DickensonRichmond Terrace King StreetColyton
