Brainwave celebrates 30 years
Come and join the celebrations.
One of Honiton’s longest-established charity shops is gearing up to celebrate 30 years of Brainwave.
Staff and volunteers at the charity’s shop in New Street are already preparing some celebratory events to mark the milestone and hope people in the town will join them.
Brainwave was set up to help children with brain injuries and other conditions such as Autism and Down’s Syndrome.
“It is quite momentous for a charity to be reaching 30 years,” says shop supervisor Diane Wood. “I would say the secret of our success is that we only survive on donations. We don’t have anything that is new unless it is donated to us.”
Throughout July the shop will be putting together special pearl and birthday- themed window displays to mark the occasion.
It has also put together a word search competition with special prizes. Word searches are now available at the shop.
