INDEPENDENT candidate Nick Cornwell has been elected to serve on Honiton town council following a by-election in St Michael’s ward yesterday (Thursday).
Two candidates were vying for the vacancy - Mr Cornwell and Neil Foster, also an independent - following the resignation of Jeff Ayres.
The turnout for vote was just over 12 per cent.
