Buckerell Fete nets more than £2,500 for village church

More than £2,500 has been raised for the Church of St Mary and St Giles in Buckerell when the village hosted its annual fete
The fete, held in the grounds of Splatthayes B&B, was opened by the Reverend Philip Butcher, assistant curate for the Honiton Team Ministry.
Money was raised from the sale of various produce including plants, jams and cakes, tombola, a book stall, cream teas, a skittles tournament and various games including how many pegs could be held with one hand.
The evening barbecue was also well attended.

Mr Douglas Cowan, proprietor of Splatthayes, was the lucky first prize winner in the grand draw, scooping a meal for four at the Deer Park Hotel.
The organisers of Buckerell Fete would like to thank everyone who helped set up and run the event, and everyone who came along to help raise ‘such a wonderful total’.
