HUNDREDS of pounds worth of damage was caused at Honiton Working Men's Club during a burglary.

HUNDREDS of pounds worth of damage was caused at Honiton Working Men's Club during a burglary.The premises, in Silver Street, were entered in the early hours of New Year's Eve (December 31).Detectives say an offender smashed a window to gain entry to the social club. It is believed that cash in a gaming machine was the thief's target.However, a spokesperson for Honiton CID said: "The offender is not thought to have got away with much money as the machine is emptied every day, but damage amounting to hundreds of pounds was caused."Police are appealing for information about the burglary.Anybody who can help is urged to call Honiton CID on 08452 777444, quoting log 73/31/12/08.
