‘Long and arduous’ journey from Honiton criticised by residents.

Bus journeys from Honiton to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital are “long and arduous” and cannot be helping passengers’ health, according to a residents’ association.

The Northcote Lane Area Residents’ Association has urged Honiton Town Council to support calls for an improved service.

Ken Sherman, the association’s chairman, says the current journey takes in “a very round about route” and that it can take in excess of an hour to reach the hospital.

“Bearing in mind that there is a high percentage of elderly people living in Honiton, the long and arduous journey cannot be helping health problems,” he has told councillors in a letter.

Honiton Senior Council has raised similar points.
