Sweet-toothed customer is a winner in the Cadbury's 'hunt the white egg' promotion

One lucky shopper is £10,000 richer - after buying a crème egg from a store in Seaton.

They scooped the prize for finding one of Cadbury's special white eggs - a handful of which have been included amongst the usual brown ones on sale nationwide.

Staff at Central Convenience Store, in Fore Street, where it was bought, also received £1,000 of shopping vouchers which will be shared amongst them.

Shop manager Paulette Xavier said the fortunate customer would have found a form wrapped around the white egg telling them to contact Cadbury and claim their money.

She said staff had no idea the valuable egg was amongst the hundreds of others in a tub by the till.

"They all look the same - and we were totally unaware we were working close to one worth £10,000," she said. "One of us had it in our hands when we sold it.

"We have no idea who bought it - it could be a local or a visitor during the recent bank holidays."
