A CADET scheme is being launched at Seaton police station - the first of its kind for East Devon.
An information day is being held about the Axe Valley Community Cadets at the Feoffees Hall in Seaton on Saturday, May 2. The scheme will start on Wednesday, may 27, and will run fortnightly.
PCSO Chris Bolsover announced the plans during the Seaton Town Council Annual General Meeting on Monday, April 27.
He said the cadets could help children from 13 to 16 - who would not be required to leave until their 8th birthday - to learn community and policing skills. He suggested they could help out with carnivals, the Grizzly and test purchasing of alcohol.
Mayor Sandra Semple said the council had made a donation and they would offer future help.
