DEVON County Council is today (Friday) putting pressure on central Government to close a loophole where people entitled to help for the digital switchover are unable to receive it because they privately rent or share an aerial.
DEVON County Council is today (Friday) putting pressure on central Government to close a loophole where people entitled to help for the digital switchover are unable to receive it because they privately rent or share an aerial. The council has recently discovered that there are some people who live in private rented accommodation who are eligible for the help for the digital switchover but are unable to receive help because their aerial is shared.The Help Scheme is available for people aged over 75, or people in receipt of certain benefits or entitlements, or registered blind or partially sighted. Help is available to ensure one television in the household is ready for digital TV and will, if needed, install a new aerial.
