OFFWELL Woodland Education Centre's community officer, Lucy Morton, was presented with a digital camera by May White and Derek Blackmore, of Offwell Fundraising Group. The small, but avid, fundraising committee has done much to support the centre over the past two years. Its most recent efforts involved pre-ordered sales of 73 Christmas puddings and 15 cakes - all to support a Heritage Lottery grant for biodiversity.Lucy said: "The new camera will be ideal for recording details of practical conservation work, which will be carried out by local volunteers enthusiastic about wildlife and keen to help hundreds of species flourish at the centre."Dr Barbara Corker, the Trust's education officer, said: "Offwell Fundraising Group works tirelessly on behalf of a variety of charities and has donated almost £1,400 to the Trust over the past two years."This has all gone towards improving habitats and facilities at the centre for the benefit of local people.
