A FACEBOOK campaign has been launched to bring Woolworths back to Britain s high streets.

As hundreds of former Woolworths stores stand empty or are being prepared to re-open as other businesses, the company's former managing director Tony Page is said to be hopeful the iconic name won't disappear forever.

Mr Page has been asked to join the Facebook group.

The Woolworths store in Honiton is to be taken over by frozen food chain Iceland, but there are no current takers for the vacant store in Seaton.
