I do not know James Semple but, as a constant reader of Your Letters, I feel I ought to. Could you not give him his own 'Moaning about Tesco' page? As a longtime resident of Seaton (over 34 years) I, personally, cannot wait for Tesco to open their store. I only wish we had Aldi or Lidl coming as well. I also cannot wait to see the end of the holiday camp (it has never been known as a village to locals). I am also amazed at the local council, demanding that Tesco finance other town projects. Why on Earth should they? Are other new traders asked to do this? Is our new chocolate shop required to finance a bandstand or pave the promenade? It is a pity Mr Semple was not here earlier. He could have started a ' Keep the Romans out of Seatonium and say no to Moridunum' campaign. Seaton is a very lovely town, in the best setting in East Devon, but it is not a museum - it must move on and share what other towns have. I suggest Mr Semple moves to Honiton where there is not only a campaign against Tesco but one against Lidl as well - so much more to occupy him. Mrs A JonesSeaton
