Maria Whitton, of Whittons Auctioneers in Honiton, is auctioning off the cart but is keen to know more about its life before it is handed over to its new owners.

The owner of a Honiton Auctioneers is trying to find the history of a handcart set to go under the hammer tomorrow (Thursday).

Maria Whitton, of Whittons Auctioneers, is auctioning off the cart but is keen to know more about its life before it is handed over to its new owners.

The cart is painted with the ‘Hoskins & Son’ brand, a Beer-based company which selling baked goods and confectionary.

On the back of the cart, there is a small metal plaque bearing the name Parsons, an Axminster-based company specialising in coach and motor works.

The handcart will be sold at tomorrow auction, which starts from 10am at the auction house, in Dowell Street. It has a guide price of £300 to £400.
