Car fire at Tesco

Car found alight at Tesco store car park in Seaton.

Firefighters were called to a car fire in the car park at the Tesco store in Seaton today (Thursday).

On arrival at the scene a fire crew from Colyton found a car well alight.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said it had received a number of calls regarding the incident which occurred at approximately 11.18am.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “The vehicle was severely damaged by fire and was extinguished by fire crews using two breathing apparatus wearers and two hose reel jets.

“Fire crews made the vehicle safe using small tools.

“The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.”
