Work due to start on community centre in Honiton on Monday.
A Honiton car park has closed - to make way for the £2.2million Beehive Community Centre.
Midas Construction will begin work on the Honiton Town Council project at the long stay car park in Dowell Street.
Part of the site has already been sealed off.
Monday will mark a significant milestone in the 30-year fight for the centre.
After a series of setbacks, the project was finally given the green light last year and the final hurdle was overcome when East Devon District council handed over the land for the scheme.
