The founder of a scheme which provides mobility aids to people in need says she needs help to help six more people.

Carol Gilson, who runs the Joe Gilson Mobility Scheme, has launched a desperate appeal for large and small working scooters, and manual electric wheelchairs.

She said: “These aids are urgently needed before Christmas.

“It is important for these people to have mobility.”

Anyone who can help Carol by donating equipment is asked to call her on 01404 43341 or email

Carol is also heavily involved with Honiton Family Church, which is putting on a festive fayre at the beginning of next month.

The fayre is on from 9.30am to 2.30pm on Saturday, December 3.

Carol said: “There will be music, games and activities, a ball pool, stalls, gift ideas and live music from noon to 1pm. Santa is also coming from 1pm until 2pm.

“This is a great family day out - come and join the fun!”
