Mrs Kolek retains her mayoral role for second term, while Cllr Ashley Alder will take on the role of deputy mayor.

Honiton town councillor Caroline Kolek has been re-elected as mayor for a second term.

Speaking at a town council meeting earlier this week, Mrs Kolek said she was ‘delighted’ to retain her role, but added that she had ‘no intention’ of being in the same seat this time next year.

A new deputy mayor was also nominated, with Cllr Ashley Alder replacing Cllr Jackie Wadsworth by six votes to five.

Cllr Kolek thanked Ms Wadsworth for her ‘tremendous support’ during the last year.

Both ladies will be sworn in at Mayor Making at The Beehive on Monday, May 23, starting at 7pm.
