THOUSANDS of pounds have been stolen from pay and display machines at Lace Walk car park in Honiton, East Devon District Council has confirmed.A spokesman said: "A total of around �2,500 in cash was taken from four machines on Lace Walk car park, Honiton, at 4:16am on Sunday, April 12. "The thieves also caused about �750 worth of damage to the machines."The machines were repaired and returned to service by 10:15am on the following Monday morning."The spokesman added: "We understand that three machines in a car park in Lyme Regis were also subject to theft using the same method of entry. We have ascertained the method of entry and are looking at several options to thwart any further attempts.
