READERS have been busy casting online votes over access issues at the Mackarness Hall, in Honiton.

READERS have been busy casting online votes over access issues at the Mackarness Hall, in Honiton.

The town council is demanding action after pensioners complained the building does not comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.

Lack of disabled toilet facilities and a loop system were highlighted during a public meeting last year.

The building is leased from the neighbouring church by East Devon District Council.

It is now under pressure to carry out work.

We are asking: Is it time East Devon District Council improved disabled access at the Mackarness Hall.

Of the votes cast so far, 75 per cent of voters think it is.
