Pictures wanted for the Axe Vale Show photographic competition

Axminster Photography Group is organising a competition in conjunction with the Axe Vale Show next month.

Entries will be displayed in the hobbies, toys and photography marquee at the show, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, June 22 and 23.

There are five themes in the open category: land and seascapes, towns and villages, nature, people and pets. There is a free choice of subject for children under 12.

Full details and entry forms are available on the www.axevaleshow.com website under the entertainment heading. The closing date is Saturday June 1.

Club spokesman Barrie Castle said: "We are inviting people to get searching through their recent photos or get the camera or mobile phone out and start shooting that once-in-a-lifetime shot."

Meanwhile Axminster Photography Group begins its summer programme on Tuesday, May 28. Potential new members are welcome and can either contact Pam Stirling on pamelastirling@hotmail.co.uk for further information or come and meet organisers at the Axe Vale Show at The Showground off Trafalgar Way, Axminster.
