A COLYTON Grammar School student is to star in a BBC children's show.

A COLYTON Grammar School student is to star in a BBC children's show.Amelia Welch, 13, fought off competition from over 7,000 applicants to make it down to the final 36 to appear in Raven: The Dragon's Eye game show.Amelia spent five weeks in Scotland being filmed for the programme and had to catch up with school work in between shoots.She said: "Being part of Raven was so much better than I ever expected. It was brilliant doing the challenges as part of a team."I was in the Wolf team and my Raven name was Lemec. I have enjoyed watching the series in the past but to take part was incredible. The challenges were very hard but also fun."The first programme will be aired at 4pm on Monday, March 2, on CBBC, and the series runs until March 27.
