Dr David Radford’s role will continue for another four years - unless primary care trusts are scrapped in the meantime.
THE CHAIRMAN of NHS Devon has been reappointed for a further term.
Dr David Radford has had his term extended by the appointments commission. The term will run from October 1 to September 30, 2014.
He said: “I am delighted to be continuing as chair of NHS Devon. There is a challenging time ahead for the NHS, and there is a great deal to be done in the next two or three years to ensure that services in Devon are high quality, efficient, and sustainable for the future.
Mr Radford has been chairman since the primary care trust was formed in October 2006.
However, it will come to an end early if primary car trusts are dissolved by 2014 as part of Government proposals, which will transfer the commissioning role of primary care trusts to GPs.
