Time is running out to support a vital lifeline for youngsters with emotional problems

There is still time to cast your vote and secure future funding for a vital lifeline for young people with emotional problems.

The Project, based in Axminster but operating throughout East Devon, is urging readers to help it secure £25,000 from the Avis Community Fund.

The money will enable it to fund its groups for at least another year.

People need to register their vote by Friday, November 18 on the website: https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/16-2687

Charity founder Debbie Humberstone said: “We need the public to vote for us, as to get to the final judging decision you need to show the community’s support and have received sufficient votes to go through.

“Everyone gets 10 votes, all of which can be used to vote for The Project, or people may choose to split their vote between different causes.

“We really would like the community to get behind us and vote for us as this needs to be a real joint effort if we are to be successful.

“The Project provides a vital service across our local area supporting young people affected by mental and emotional health issues.

“To many, it is a lifeline, and the only support they will receive at a very difficult time - not just young people but also their families.

“To continue providing this support, we have to raise all our own money.

“The Project is right at the heart of our local community, and we need everyone’s votes to get us to the final, and give us the best possible chance of being granted this funding.

“We’d love everyone to vote for us, and tell all their colleagues, friends and family to do the same. It’s going to take a real team effort to get all the votes we need.”

Since opening three years ago, The Project has supported more than 150 young people and parents through its groups.
