AXMINSTER town councillors have supported street markets being held on a different day over Christmas.

AXMINSTER town councillors have supported street markets being held on a different day over Christmas.Christmas and New Year's day fall on Thursdays this year and Jim Rowe wrote to the council to say he was concerned by the street stall holders' loss of opportunity.Town councillors said during the monthly meeting on Monday that they had no objection in principle.Mayor Graham Godbeer said: "I support it in principle as long as they fulfil their obligations, such as road closures.
