Children take part in a range of activities at the Beam House PGL Activity Centre

Pupils from Chard School enjoyed a fabulous time in at the Beam House PGL Activity Centre in North Devon last week.

The great weather meant the children were able to make the most of all the outdoor activities.

The favourite activities were the ones involving the most water or mud - surfing and the challenge course. Some found the heights of the high ropes and zip wire somewhat challenging, but others seemed totally at home swinging in the trees.

Shooting, archery and fencing were also highly enjoyable, particularly as the PGL instructors were so entertaining and friendly with the children.

Deputy head, Richard Lucas, said: ‘This was a wonderful, memorable week which the children will remember for years to come.

“They’ve learnt new skills, overcome fears and worked brilliantly as a group supporting each other – all skills which they will carry forward and find invaluable in the future. Well done everyone.”
