A FAMILY support group has extended into the Axe Valley and is looking for volunteers.

Home-Start volunteers visit families at home each week for two to four hours, supporting parents in situations such as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness and disability.

Volunteers offer non-judgemental, practical and emotional support and help build the family's confidence and ability to cope - often averting crisis.

All volunteers need to be parents themselves and able to attend a free one week preparation course. The next course will be at the Axminster Youth Centre from Monday to Friday, August 24 to 28, from 9am to 5.30pm.

For more information and an application form contact Sue, Amanda or Annalisa at Home-Start Exeter on 01392 426440 or email homestartexeter@msn.com .
