Charity collection box thefts in Honiton

Business owners urged to ensure collection boxes are properly secured.
Police in Honiton are urging business owners to ensure charity collection boxes are properly secured following a spate of thefts from shops in New Street and High Street.
One of the shops targeted was local charity TRIP Community Transport Association in New Street.
A collection tin containing between £100 and £120 was stolen on Monday, December 30, at around 2.50pm.
PCSO Dave Keeler said: “If there are any businesses out there that might have had an attempted theft, but have not reported it please get in touch, especially if there is any CCTV footage of a possible offender.
“Please make sure charity boxes are secure and if possible chain it down.”
Police are following up lines of enquiry.
Anyone with information or any businesses that have had charity boxes stolen are urged to contact police on 101 and quote crime reference number KH13/1029.
