A dinner which used produce sourced within 50 miles of Axminster has raised nearly £800 for a healthy eating charity.

The ‘50-mile dinner’ was held at River Cottage in Axminster to raise funds for Axminster charity Health and Local Food for Families (HALFF).

Dozens of diners - including participants from HALFF’s courses, business directors, trustees, and staff - enjoyed the evening.

Emma Styles welcomed guests, while Tiggy Parry gave an overview of the charity, which works with vulnerable groups.

The chef for the night introduced the menu - a selection of local cheese, duck, beef and fish and more.

There was also a choice of raffle prizes to win, supported by local businesses.

A spokesman for HALFF said: “We are extremely grateful to River Cottage for hosting this event for HALFF and for all the 50-mile diners who attended. We have had great feedback from the evening.

“These are essential funds to ensure the charity can assist vulnerable groups in our community.”
