The event is hitting Honiton this Saturday (July 25), bringing with it an array of stalls, attractions and entertainment.

This year’s Market Charter Day in Honiton promises to be another fun-filled spectacle.

The event is hitting Honiton this Saturday (July 25), bringing with it an array of stalls, attractions and entertainment.

The day will kick off with a traditional market in High Street, from 9am to 4pm, and charity market in Northcote Lane from 10am to 4pm.

Entertainment will also be put on at Allhallows Playing Field from 10am to 4pm.

This includes a classic car rally being put on by Honiton Lions Club, a family dog show (at 1.30pm) and a junior town crier competition from 3pm.

Honiton Leisure Centre will be holding an open day, complete with gymnastics, majorettes and dancing performances, and from 10am, St Paul’s Church’s bell tower will be opened to the public with bell ringing demonstrations.

Honiton’s town crier Dave Retter will be shouting the charity to deputy town mayor Jackie Wadsworth at 10am.

At St Paul’s Church, a vintage tea and coffee stands will be held from 10am to 2pm, with stalls from 10.30am.

The church is also set to host a Tudor dance group (10.05am to 10.25am and 11.05am to 11.30am).

At Allhallows Playing Field, Mini Twirlstars will perform from 10.15am, and Honiton Twirlstars from 10.30am.

The town’s gymnastics club will be performing from 11am, with a salsa dance group taking to the floor at 11.30am.

More dancing will be held at noon, courtesy of LeRoc Modern Jive, and 1pm, by Westernspirit Line Dancing, before a family dog show is held at 1.30pm.

The junior town crier competition and fancy dress contest will be held from 3pm, with the fun coming to an end by 4pm.

At 7pm, Honiton Town Band will play a concert at Honiton’s Millennium Green, within The Glen.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and seating. Refreshments and a raffle will be available.
