‘Cheeky pork’ dish is a winner for Seaton chef

Check House nursing home’s head cook wins place in care catering finals

Serving up delicious meals for residents at a Seaton nursing home has won its head chef a place in the finals of national competition.

Chris McDonald, of The Check House, won the regional round of a contest run by The National Association of Care Catering.

His winning dish was ‘Cheeky Pork’ – meat braised in red wine with braised red cabbage and parmentier potatoes.

He said: “I was thrilled to win. I serve my winning dish as part of our daily choice of eight options at lunchtime.”
