A Women's Institute is entering a Chinese Dragon in Colyton Carnival, taking place tomorrow at 8pm.Members of Colyton WI have made the patchwork wonder. After the carnival, the patches will be split up and made into smaller quilts which will be donated to a scheme to provide quilts for 'babies in prison'.A spokeswoman for the WI said: "A member from another federation has organised this scheme as she was aware that babies are born to mothers in prison and spend time with them behind bars in a somewhat grim environment. "It is felt that colourful quilts give mental stimulation to the babies and the simple gift of a quilt, which the mothers take home with them when they are released, can sometimes be a turning point for someone whose life has possibly not been too full of acts of generosity or kindness.
