Crowds turn out in force for Festive Friday

Axminster’s Trinity Square was packed as the town turned out in force to celebrate Festive Friday.

Town crier Nick Goodwin read a proclamation before mayor Douglas Hull officially declared the event 
open.

The festivities were again organised by Axminster Rotary Club and the compere for the evening was town councillor Mervyn 
Symes.

A number of local organisations manned stalls and there wasmusic from Lyme Regis Town and local schoolchildren.

Other entertainment included a majorettes display, barbecue with mulled wine and mince pies, carol singing, Punch and Judy, local school stalls and the much-anticipated arrival of Father Christmas on his sleigh.
