As a Seatonian and a recent town councillor, I felt rather saddened and very disappointed that Mrs Sanham has felt the necessity to step down from her position as the town clerk. Both myself and, I am sure, most of the townspeople and those from further afield have always found her willing to provide help and advice on all manner of subjects when it was found to be necessary.During her time in office, a very great deal was achieved. Whether it was help with the formation of the town's Gateway Group, her concern for the staff and smooth running of the Tourist Information Centre, or the promotion of the sponsorship scheme with regard to Seaton in Bloom, this and much, much more was addressed alongside the ongoing and, at times, very difficult regeneration planning and funding issues - all undertaken in both her own and paid time.John SewardLyme Mews Seaton
