A SEATON charity worker who was stung with a parking fine at Co-op has since had the charges dropped.

Teresa Evans had visited the store on a tea and sympathy run to her diabetic father-in-law and then later to shop more than two hours later - when she was stung with a 45 fine.

In a letter from The ParkingEye Team, she was told that the money would be credited to her and that no further action would be taken.

Ms Evans said: "I didn't expect much else. They need to sort their system out because they'll have these problems more often with people who go in and out twice a day."

She voiced concern that pensioners could also be hit with these fines and not know how to challenge them.

The Co-op has advised people with any issues regarding fines to contact the customer services department on 0800 0686727.
