Lyme Regis’ new lifbeoat answers its first emergency call and waits offshore while pair make it to safety
Lyme Regis’ new lifeboat answered her first emergency call yesterday (Easter Saturday).
Spirit of Loch Fyne was launched at 6.44pm after coastguards were alerted to two people reportedly cut off by the tide in the Black Ven area, east of the town.
A man and a woman, both aged 49, had walked from West Bay and were found to be safe and well when they were met ashore by coastguards.
The lifeboat waited off shore while it was decided that the pair could walk back to Charmouth.
