Fisherman was up to his waist in water trying to rescue his craft

A FISHERMAN took to the water to rescue his stranded boat at Seaton yesterday (Sunday).

The Loy Boy II ran aground at Fisherman’s Gap at around 3.45pm.

Beer Coastguard Rescue Team was called to the scene after reports that the boat owner was waist deep in the water trying to save the vessel.

By the time they arrived he was out of the water and a tractor was attached to the boat.

The unit remained at the scene to make sure that all progressed well and returned to station when the boat was safely on top of the beach.
